PreK Press
December 2018
***PreK BEAR SHARE***
The PreKers are excited to share much of what they have learned about bears with parents, siblings, and extended family. Please set aside time on either Monday, December 17th or Tuesday, December 18th between 8:00 and 8:30 A.M. for an informal opportunity to come see many of the activities. The PreK Bear Share will be set up in our classroom, the Clark House foyer, and the STEAM Lab. We hope to see all of you here!
***LORD & LADY OF LEVITY PROCLAMATION***
Another TCS tradition is the Lord and Lady of Levity Proclamation. This proclamation informs the entire TCS community of the special theme for each day of the week leading up to the Holiday Program. Children are invited to dress according to each theme but please know that this is not mandatory and your child is free to dress up or not as he/she sees fit (with the exception of Friday). Printed in yesterday’s Little Hoot, it is copied below for your convenience.
Next week is the Week of Levity, when we bring light to the darkest time of the year.
Please help us celebrate this last academic week in 2018 by dressing up accordingly.
This year's Court will be announced at tomorrow's All School Meeting.
- Monday, 12/17 - Career Day
- Tuesday, 12/18 - PJ Day
- Wednesday, 12/19 - Sports Day
- Thursday, 12/20 - Holiday Sweater Day
- Friday, 12/21 - Dress up for the Holiday Concert
***READING BUDDY GIFTS***
The PreKers and 4th graders will be sharing some special time together before the holidays. While we realize that there are some strong friendships between buddies, we ask that you please do not bring any gifts to school for Reading Buddies. The PreKers are making cards for them as a way to extend their greetings and we feel that is enough. We also do not want any hurt feelings that come about as a result of some children receiving gifts and others not receiving any. Thanks in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

**HOLIDAY PROGRAM INFORMATION**
Here is some important information concerning the Holiday Program. Please speak to us if you have any questions.
- The program begins at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, December 21st but children should arrive in class at the regular time.
- The children walk to the program with their class.
- The children sit with their class during the entire program.
- The PreKers will be on stage to perform early in the program. (Probably within the first 15 minutes or so.) They will also be singing with their Reading Buddies at the end of the program.
- The PreKers will be escorted back to class by their Reading Buddies at the end of the program.
- Dismissal for the day (and for vacation) is from the classroom IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING the Holiday Program.
- The general rule is to dress UP, not DOWN! Holiday attire and festive clothing help make the program even more special.
- Children will not eat SNACK OR LUNCH at school so please be sure to give them a hearty breakfast prior to school!
- There is no Owl’s Nest care available.
This will be our last newsletter before the holiday break. Thank you for all your support, help, and participation so far this year. It is very much appreciated. We wish you all a wonderful, relaxing, and healthy holiday season.
See you 2019!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
