PreK BEAR SHARE

The PreKers have been busy learning more about bears these last couple of weeks (with a little time off to learn about Thanksgiving)!  We are excited to share much of what we have done with parents, siblings, and extended family. Please set aside time on either Monday, December 17th or Tuesday, December 18th between 8:00 and 8:30 A.M. for an informal opportunity to come see many of the activities. The PreK Bear Share will be set up in our classroom, the Clark House foyer, and the STEAM Lab.  We hope to see all of you here!

TCS CAN VAN

We are continuing to seek donations for the TCS Can Van.  The PreK collection bin is in the hallway right outside our classroom and we are hoping to fill it up at least a couple more times in the days ahead.  Please refer back to the special card/bookmark your children brought home in their lunch boxes several days ago or The Little Hoot for the list of most needed foods and supplies and donate as much as you are able.  Thank you!

MINI-FEAST THANK YOU

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Thanksgiving Mini-Feast with our Reading Buddies. Despite the weather’s best efforts to foil our plans, we were able to enjoy our time in the Dining Hall with our 4th grade friends, share lots of yummy foods, and spend time together as part of the TCS school community.  We appreciate all your support and your contributions.

READING BUDDY GIFTS

The PreKers and 4th graders will be sharing some special time together before the holidays.  While we realize that there are some strong friendships between buddies, we ask that you please do not bring any gifts to school for Reading Buddies.  The PreKers are making cards for them as a way to extend their greetings and we feel that is enough.  We also do not want any hurt feelings that come about as a result of some children receiving gifts and others not receiving any. Thanks in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

TCS HOLIDAY PROGRAM

You will be receiving much information about our annual TCS Holiday Program in the near future. In the meantime, please be sure to save this date - Friday, December 21st - and plan on joining the school community for this wonderful event.  The program begins at 9:00 AM and dismissal for vacation begins immediately after the event ends.

WINTER CLOTHING

The PreKers love being on the playground and we try to spend time outside daily.  With winter approaching, it is vitally important that everyone be prepared appropriately. All children need to have labeled warm coats, hats, and mittens (unless they can put gloves on independently) daily.  When there is snow on the ground they also need to have labeled boots and snow pants. These should be packed in a sturdy, plastic bag with handles that can hang on their hook in the hallway. The bags with winter gear may be left at school during the week if you wish and we will send them home on Friday for washing (as needed). The children also need to have another pair of shoes or sneakers (especially for gym on Tuesdays) to change into every day.  If you have any questions, please ask!

CHANGE OF SEASONAL CLOTHING

Now is a good time to switch out the extra change of clothing we have for your children in the classroom. With the arrival of colder weather we need long pants, leggings, long-sleeved shirts, etc. to replace the shorts, skirts, and short-sleeved shirts that we currently have. Bring them in at your convenience and we will happily help make the switch.

PreK STUDENT ABSENCES
Please email Ms. Hard and Mrs. Halsey in the morning when you know your child is not going to be in school due to either sickness or travel plans. It is helpful for us to know for planning purposes, but more importantly, we feel much better knowing the whereabouts and health status of our students.  Thanks so much!
